Wee Little stitching
The second that I saw this pattern, it was pretty much a given I was gonna stitch it. That, and I just happen to know someone who loves The Golden Girls enough to own a framed photo of them. :) This pattern, as mentioned before, comes from the genius minds at Wee Little Stitches, and is available through our good friends at Kitschy Digitals.
If stitching superheros is more your speed, Jacqueline stitched up doll-size versions of her patterns, using Smyrna Stitch:
Ooh, Smyrna stitch, you are new to me! Jacqueline worked her dolls on 14 count Aida, over 2 squares with the Smyrna stitch, making the pattern twice its normal size. Come to think of it, I'd love doll-sized versions of the Golden Girls - wouldn't they make cute Christmas ornaments? Ok, maybe I'm just being weird, here. :)
I love the added texture the Symrna stitch gives - I'll have to try this soon!
Also inspiring are Lisa's doll versions worked on Monk's cloth:
I instantly started singing the Golden Girls theme song; I can't believe I remembered all the words. Love the pattern!
ReplyDeleteChristmas ornaments is SUCH a great idea! I have a bunch of these patterns and now my mind is racing! What to stitch first?!?
ReplyDeleteI've also been using the same method to stitch on 14 count plastic canvas to make big Pixel People magnets for my fridge! ~ Jacqueline @ weelittlestitches
ReplyDeleteWow, I *love* the Golden Girls cross stitch - how adorable! I would totally hang this in my apartment. : )
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! Thanks Jacqueline! :)
ReplyDeleteI was singing it the whole time I stitched it. For about 2 weeks straight. :)
ReplyDeleteWee Little Stitches are OK but there are other shops that sell great cross stitch patterns, like PixelPower, for example. I think that PixelPower even better than WLS:
ReplyDelete- they have way more patterns (in fact, they have A LOT of patterns) and add a new pattern almost every day;
- their patterns cost less money and they have amazing sales, like 3 patterns for 10$ or 5 patterns for 15$;
- they have a Facebook group where they post a free pattern every week and giveaway some of their commercial patterns for free;
- they make custom patterns in a day or two and if you can't find your favourite movie, tv show or music band in their shop you need just ask them to make it for you, everything will be ready in a couple of days, try to do the same with WLS, you'll be waiting for ages;
- they are just super:-)
Give them some love and visit their shop: www.pixelpowerdesign.etsy.com. Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/pixelpowerdesign
Cloudsfactory too sells characters cross stitch patterns! I love the Disney princesses patterns and there are also movies, tv series and rock bands! She made me a custom pattern in 2 days for just 5$! She is super!
