Patterns (in books): Needle Painting Embroidery

Needle painting practice motifs

Needle painting practice motifs - stitched by alexishelmrath

I thought I'd draw your attention this week to the beautiful work Alexis has been doing using Needle Painiting Embroidery: Fresh Ideas for Beginners by Trish Burr as a guide. You can read Alexis's review of the book on her blog here.

Hi, I'm Jo - I feature new embroidery patterns Sundays on Feeling Stitchy. I also post on our Twitter and Pinterest.

Is there a new pattern you'd like us feature? Email me!

  3. Lovely work. It looks far too tedious for me, and by Alexis' review, I think it is. I'll stay with 2-3-4 or 6 strands of floss.

  4. Alexis, your work is gorgeous ! My dear friend game me this book for my birthday and in return I stitched the little Roller bird from it for her birthday.

I'm finding Trish's books to be a joy, they are so easy to follow and are really enjoyable.

Keep up your great work !

Never thought this would possibly happen, when those threads are woven into that pallete, those perfect color and texture is really great.
