A very Lucky giveaway!
As you may know, an amazing stitcher named Lucky Jackson has been working on a 365 day embroidery project. Each day she draws and stitches something new, along with a recollection, observation, or little tidbit from her past.
I love her humor, her style, her sense of fun, and her quirky taste in films and fabrics. :)
I am amazed at the sheer volume and consistency of her talent and inspiration.
I have tried those 365 day challenges, people, and they are not easy - but Lucky makes it look effortless.
Well, I'm really excited to announce that, in celebration of Feeling Stitchy's 5 year anniversary, Lucky was sweet enough to do an extra-special giveaway for our readers!
She is giving away 1 each of her 3 new PDF patterns:
"Polaroid Love"
"Boot Love"
"Pretty dress"
If the sneak peek of her new patterns is any indication - our winner is going to feel very lucky, indeed:
But you know what? Lucky is doing something extra-awesome for you guys - she's also giving away one of her 365 day embroideries!
Yes, I just said that - you could win one very special piece, her "Enid" embroidery:
You get special points in my book if you've even seen Ghost World. Extra-special, off-the-chart points, if you embroider it. :)
All you need to do to win one of her PDF patterns or the Enid embroidery is leave a comment here by Sunday, March 4, 9PM US Central time - tell us which of the PDF patterns is your fave. Also, do you have a favorite piece from the embroideries in Lucky's 365 collection so far? As always, please include your email address so we can find you! You must not have won a giveaway on Feeling Stitchy this year.
And by the way, this giveaway is open to ALL Feeling Stitchy readers - that means you international peeps, too. :)
As for my faves, how could I possibly choose? But I think I'd have to say Rushmore, Margot, Jemaine, and all of her 80's heartthrobs.
So what do you say? Feeling Lucky? Leave a comment and win something in this wonderful giveaway!
Edit: March 4, 9 PM - comments closed! Winners announced tomorrow! :)
I like the polaroid pattern the best and it is too hard to pick a favorite out of the 365 collection. I like the shoe ones the most cause I find it hard to wear them but I looove to look at them.

Love the polaroid one. And I'm thinking she had an embroidery of a couple on the beach...love that one. But the one with the phone is pretty amazing too.
ReplyDeleteI'm beyond excited about this giveaway. All of her work is stunning! I love the vintage dress pattern. I also love the Arrested Development series and her take on Ron Swanson. I can't pick just one favorite!
ReplyDeleteNichole bohoislandbaby@gmail.com
I just adore her pieces. My favorites are "Say Anything" "Annie Hall" and Jemaine from "Eagle vs. Shark." Would love to win any of her patterns.
ReplyDeleteThis is an AMAZING project! I don't think I have the stamina to make it through a one week project, let alone a 365. Lucky's work is so unique and wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI adore the Boot Love pattern!
My favorite pieces from the 365 Day projects are Tim Gunn Day 146 and Don't Let The Tutu Fool You day 141 (that kid rocks!)
Happy 5th Birthday, Feeling Stitchy!
My favourite piece so far is day 49 (take this job and shove it week.) I want to sit on that couch to reread Ghost World. While wearing my grey patent leather t-strap shoes. So I'm gonna have to say that the pretty dress pattern is my favourite. But I do love all three.
ReplyDeleteThis is very exciting! Thank you!

:)
These are so amazing! I've just gotten into embroidery and I can't get enough! Ghostworld is one of my all time favorite movies! Ms. Jackson is wildly talented and original! I can't stop looking at all of her pieces! I wish I could hang them all in my home!
ReplyDelete:) I love all the patterns with the boots and shoes - the feet are all saying something, which is totally cool!
ReplyDeleteI love her series of celebrity mug shots.
Fave PDF probably the "pretty dress" but they're all great...fav of her works...Day 101 "Swinging", Day 141 Darth in Tutu, and Day 54 Sexy Secretary. Thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteOMG! I've never seen such amazing embroidery in my life! I would love to win "Boot love", and my favourite is also Jermaine, just because i have a thing for proper sideburns! Feeling lucky in sweden! / anja.lundstrom@hotmail.com
ReplyDeleteHi, I'm feeling lucky because today's my birthday.
ReplyDeleteMm, and my fave PDF pattern is the Polaroid Love one! Polaroid is my dream camera, by the way. I'd love to stitch a polaroid camera pattern :)
My favorite piece from the embroideries in Lucky's 365 collection? Of course the Enid one! The first time I watched Ghost World, I felt Enid is so me. Her cynical point of view, her artsy obsession, her disappointment, her dreams, just like me! And I wanna be friends with Seymour just like her.
Please let me have it ;)
My e-mail : chanka.putri@gmail.com
I love the boot love pattern! I think it's great. I went and checked out the 365 and couldn't pick a favorite.
ReplyDeleteaprilshecon(AT)gmail(DOT)com
I love the Boot Love pattern; I already bought it and I'm embroidering it now! But I'd love another, naturally (they're all wonderful)! And I'd be hard pressed to pick a favorite Lucky Jackson 365 embroidery - they're all so fantastic. I'd treat that Enid embroidery reverently if I were so lucky to win it...
ReplyDeleteI really love the Pretty Dress pattern. As for my favorite from the collection. So many amazing ones and we aren't even that far into the year. I love Day 7. And Day 54, I would want to hang that at work. But I love the interactiveness of day 129 (and the movie). So no I don't have a favorite.
ReplyDeleteThe boots is my favorite pattern and I keep almost buying it but then telling myself that I must finish at least one of the embroidery projects I have half-started before gathering more. My favorite of her 365's so far is the one of herself as a little girl talking on the telephone. It cracks me up and the story that goes with it cracks me up too. But there are also many others I love.
ReplyDeleteI just adore day 16 of the 365 stitching! Such a confident little girl!
ReplyDeleteI really like the pretty dress pattern too. Reminds me of a time of pretty shoes!
Yay! Great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite PDF pattern is "Polaroid love", and the piece that I love is "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind"(day 130), but all are awesome.

ReplyDeleteAnd I seriously am loving her Arrested Development series right now! but the hammock one is my favorite previous one.

The polaroid one is very cool. I am a librarian so the daily one with a woman holding a huge stack of books is a fav of mine, "Librarian." Jackson's creativity is really incredible and her stamina amazing.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite pattern is Boot Love! It's so exciting to go on the 365luckydays website every day and see the new embroideries! One of my favourite pieces is "The Rebel", the embroidery of Margaret Cho because...I love Margaret Cho anyway and the fabric used is also very lovely.

My fav PDF pattern is "Boot Love!" I would love to use it and embroider "one of these days these boots are going to walk all over you." Some of my favorite pieces from Lucky's 365 collection are the "Domestic Bliss Week" pieces. The carrying books, cutting coupons, and hanging laundry. Overall, all her pieces are great!

I'm a big movie fan so her movie collection is my favourite (especially Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (day130), Amelie (day109) and Home Alone (day92)). Also her Domestic Bliss collection is great because of different fabric texture. And finally Happieness Ever After (day6), It's All About Us (day12 - there's a lovely story in this post also) and Hammock (day99)!
Thank you again for this chance!

ReplyDeleteleahthezombie at gmail dot com
lucky jackson is my hero! torn between the polaroid and boots patterns (but the former if push came to shove). and so hard to choose a 365 piece ~ love the typewriter, #81('wallflower' with the dress the same pattern as the wall) , #101(swinging on that bright floral), and so many more. thank you!
ReplyDeletetinarod515{at} gmail {dot} com
She's so awesome! I absolutely adore her work, and am in total awe of her as well!
ReplyDeleteI really like the boot pattern the best I think (they are all gorgeous, but I love the drape of the skirt in that one).
My favorite pieces are from her "take this job and shove it" week! I especially like the waitress struggling with the giant stacks of pancakes!
lisakatec(at)gmail(dot)com

Day 86! nosnibornetsirk at gmail dot com
ReplyDelete365 Lucky Days is an amazing project..! I can't pick a favourite from her many many embroideries- I just wonder how awesome they must look if they were lined up side-by-side. My favourite PDF though is 'Boot Love' - it reminds me of my cowboy-boot-and-dress-wearing-older-sister. It would be interesting to see someone else's version of a Lucky embroidery, you know, to see if they pick up a different handwriting, as Lucky's embroidery style is so strong. Its rainy today- I might have a home day and do some embroidery :)
ReplyDeleteI love her unique style! My favorite pattern is Boot Love and I LOVE the John Cusack/Say Anything 365 pattern. One of my all time favorite movies!

I am SO in love with Lucky's work! She does indeed have fabulous style and awesome taste. She is a true inspiration for artists and a newish stitcher like me. The Boot Love pattern is my fav PDF. It has taken serious self-discipline for me not to purchase a STACK of her 365 pieces. I especially love day 62, it’s a great image of Sean Penn capturing his look in the 80's and it looks so much like Hopper does now. I LOVE IT!
ReplyDeleteempresseddy@yahoo.com
Boot love is incredible!
ReplyDeletecharmaboutyou(at)gmail(dot)com
i am so glad i popped in today because the sheer artistry behind lucky's projects are amazing! it is completely toooooo hard to choose any one, especially since her taste seems to coincide with mine! but day 125 is pretty hardcore (who else has seen "shark vs. eagle"??)

ReplyDeleteOne of the things I love about this website is learning about all the inspiring crafty people out there that I've never heard of! This is one of them! I just went to the website and was blown away over her simplistic, yet vintage-y style all her pieces have. I loved the typewriter with buttons as keys and also Batman and Robin in the bath tub. Hilarious. Of her pdf's above, I love the "Boot Love"...if I HAD to pick a favorite.
ReplyDelete:) Kate
