I've tried to make my own, and it was a miserable failure.

Oh my goodness--do I have to choose just ONE project?!! I LOVE everything that Jenny has made and these 4 transfers would be an awesome addition to my collection. I think I'd probably start out with some tea towels and napkins as a Mother's Day gift to my Grandma. She taught me how to embroider (although Jenny refined my skills) and my Grandma LOVES everything I embroider for her. Definitely a gift from the heart!

ReplyDeleteI would make a tea towel/ransom note, using the three alphbets. I'd want it to look like the ransom notes from the old crime movies where they're made from cut up newspapers and the like. Not sure what it will say yet, but probably something like: "We have kidnaped your toothbrush, and will not return it until the toilet seat is returned to the correct possition!"

I would love to make an art quilt to hang in my blank-walled newly painted studio! I'd love to win this... March is my birthday month as well and I could use some cheering up and a new project for a new year! I started stitching 5+ years ago when my daughter was a baby and I got Jenny's first published box set (the one that is now out of print and used copies are being offered at insane prices on Amazon). I've been collecting her patterns (I already have Tattoo Your Towels, but not the rest or any metallic thread) and following her career since. I am so grateful that her work introduced to me to what has been a great passion of mine!

ReplyDeleteI've moved 16 times since my mum had to sell her house when I was 6 years old. That's pretty much every year or two, so there was never really any time to decorate (even less so in college). But in a few months I'm moving into a duplex where I can paint my walls some color other than white, have a cat, and I finally have a yard to plant a garden for the first time in nearly 20 years! I would love to use this package to help decorate mah new pad so it becomes the home I've always dreamed of. I'm thinking...stitched roman shades, a gas furnace "shield" ala 19th century fireplace shields, cute or sassy framed stitches...anything. It's not just about decorating, it's also about using this opportunity to become a better stitcher. There's nothing quite like looking at all your work and seeing the progress you've made and getting that warm fuzzy feeling of pride and hopefulness.

ReplyDeleteI would make a sampler, like I want to do with all my Sublime Stitching patterns. Just plunk the sheet down on a demi towel or wall hanging & go to town. I think the metallic thread would look spectacular in an alphabet sampler or in the lamps.

ReplyDeleteMy daughter loves fire works, the first thing I would make would be a picture of fire works using the glow in the dark and metallic threads together (so that they would look great whether the lights are out or not!)

I use Sublime Stitching's FABULOUS stuff to add pizazz to my kids clothes and all kinds of random things. I would make a rockin sampler for my 2 year olds room!

I would embroider an apron with a skull wearing a chef's hat with my 14 year old daughter's name on it.

I could do alot with this bundle, but first I would make a mid-century style pillow cover using the Vintage Lamp transfers with accents of the metallic thread. I've yet to try the metallic thread, so that would be especially interesting.
