Very Lucky winners!

Ok, peeps, here are the lucky winners! Thank you to everyone who entered the Lucky Jackson giveaway and thanks especially to the awesome Lucky Jackson for making this all possible!

Winner of Boot Love pattern:

She's so awesome! I absolutely adore her work, and am in total awe of her as well!

I really like the boot pattern the best I think (they are all gorgeous, but I love the drape of the skirt in that one).

My favorite pieces are from her "take this job and shove it" week! I especially like the waitress struggling with the giant stacks of pancakes!

Melanie says,
365 is an amazing idea and the talent that comes from Lucky's website is always entertaining. I receive a daily webmail from the site and I'm never disappointed. I'd have to say the recent "Arrested Development" series is my absolute favorite. I'm always so inspired, I hope the year NEVER ends.

  2. I was sad that I missed entering this contest (oh well!). I had already purchased the Polaroid pattern from her. I do love "Ghost World" (I did prefer the comic, though - maybe because I read that first). I have a couple of questions about the pattern I received, however. I'm guessing that the DMC Pearl Cotton #12 is for the black outlines of the illustration, but it wasn't completely clear from the (beautifully illustrated) supplies list. Split stitch would not be used with Pearl Cotton, obviously.

The next question is about fusible web - the kind pictured in Lucky's instructions is "Unique" brand "Hemfuser" 3/4" by 27 yards, but I can't seem to find a U.S. distributer for that. We also don't use the term "puck" in the U.S. (but I get the reference to a hockey puck, eh?) Does anyone here at Feeling Stitchy have a recommendation for a substitute? The first thing that came up in my search was "Heatnbond Hem Fuser - Iron-on Adhesive, 10mm" via Amazon. I know that people have strong feelings about fusible web and over the past year I have read many conflicting reviews. I really want to try applique but I don't have the funds (nor do I want to mess up a project with the wrong materials) to try every brand. (I'd also rather save up my money to buy one of Lucky's pieces before they are all sold out!) Any suggestions? Any advice about these questions or anything relating to materials to create this kind of work would be wonderfully appreciated! Thanks!
