Royal Wedding, anyone?
Guess what I got in the mail? Well, if you don't feel like guessing, you're looking at it! The nice peeps at CrossStitcher were kind enough to mail their latest issue and I decided to keep it all to my stingy, non-stitching self. What? Of course not, guys - is there anything I don't give away? You probably think I'd give my own mom away if I could. (There is absolutely no proof of that. Yet.)
Anyway! This wonderful, commemorative copy of the CrossStitcher could be yours. I decided to keep this giveaway US-only because I want to make sure you get your copy in time for the wedding AND it'll be a nice treat for us non-UK-ers.
All you have to do is leave a comment on this post, and I thought, in honor of the wedding, I'd have the comments be extra goofy. If you could marry a prince (or princess) and choose exactly who he (or she) might be - actor, person in history, past or present, etc - who would it be? Choose your prince! (Or princess) :) And although I cannot mail you that person, I can send one lucky person a very nice magazine instead.
And, because I gotta be first up - here's mine:
Mark Ronson.... because he's cute... and talented. Ok, so I know nothing of his character, but he can make a mean record, and he's one snappy dresser. And he's a Brit (yours doesn't have to be). Comments will stay open until Saturday morning, when I'll close the comments, choose a random winner, and pop this magazine in the mail. So, bring it on, folks - it's prince time!
Edit: 4/23/11 - here's our winner!
Happy zombie has a magazine coming in the mail!

I would absolutely adore this magazine ... so if I can't win it, I will have to hunt it down to purchase it for memorbilia sake :) Prince, eh? I've been a Royal Watcher-Maniac since THE wedding in the 80's ... So my first thought is Prince Wills but, obviously ... DUH! LOL So ... it'd have to be Flynn Rider, who becomes a prince by marriage to Rapunzel.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! Can't wait to see everyone else's responses :) Thank you ever so much for this opportunity!!
OOO, there aren't any real life Princes I think are that hot but I would love to marry Vlad III, Prince of Wallachia (esp Gary Oldman edition!)
ReplyDeletehttp://1millionwords.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/gary-oldman-dracula.jpg
or The Half Blood Prince http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_UOwWawUu_IQ/S_4jt7_YkzI/AAAAAAAAABo/YCoGL2K_3RQ/s1600/severus_snape_half_blood_prince.jpg
NOMNOM NOM :)
HA- my honey is on a holiday in England now! But... if it weren't for him, I'd have to say I might be heavily leaning toward Jude Law. The boy makes my cheeks rosy and my nose sweaty! (I'm nearly blushing now- hehe).
ReplyDeleteHappy Tuesday Floresita!
Ooh, pick me please! :) I've been trying to find a good commemorative stitching project for the big event.
ReplyDeleteHmm... if I had to pick a prince, it would either have to be Jon Krasinski (because he is sweet and funny and adorable and tall and...) or Rupert Friend as Prince Albert in "The Young Victoria" (who is adorable and drop-dead gorgeous in those fitted tails, waistcoats, and trousers).
Do they have to be alive at the moment?
ReplyDeleteBecause I would probably pick Cary Grant or Gregory Peck. :)
I'm in the Canary Islands and I cannot find that magazine :'(.
ReplyDeleteAbout your prince, Mr. Ronson, I totally agree, he's so stylish and smart. He would has been my prince a year ago, but now I'm much into James Johnston from Biffy Clyro http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3294/2802236983_92007a9440.jpg ^^
Hmmm, I think my first choice would be Prince Caspian from the Narnia movies. Actors should need a licence to be that deliciously dreamy :). My second choice would be Worf from Star Trek: The Next Generation. I'm a sucker for a noble Klingon Warrior.
ReplyDeleteCOLIN FIRTH!!!! i've been in love with him forever, i swoon over him in pride and prejudice all the time. he is the ulitmate mr. darcy. he's always in victorian movies (which i love) i've yet to see the king's speech, but i'm sure he's just as dashing! marry me colin!! i'm sure my fiance won't mind ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm kind of a big dork about this stuff and everyone just looks at me cross eyed. *sigh*
ReplyDeleteIf I had to pick a prince, I think I'd go with the original Mr. Darcy, Colin Firth. Handsome, intelligent, chivalrous and seemingly all around nice person.
Jude Law or Javier Bardem...gotta love those foreign gentlemen! :)
ReplyDeletejames mcavoy.
ReplyDeletea million times james mcavoy.
oh, I'm sorry - I got distracted...what were we talking about?
I do have to agree with you on Mark Ronson, and for the same reasons, and an above poster on Judd Law. Since this is fantasy, do I have to pick one?!
ReplyDeleteGreat Magazine! My Prince? Jeff Bridges. He has the most delightful hair.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if he has played a prince but I would pick George Clooney. What a cool edition to share.
ReplyDeleteEr, is it ok if they're animated?
ReplyDeleteBecause I am all about some Prince Eric from the Little Mermaid! Or maybe even the beast :)
Also, I really really need this magazine! please and thank you!
ok, I am just loving the tiny vw bus and beetle driving across the page. sorry. I am a vw nut. LOL My dream prince besides my very own hubby now....would be....Johnny Depp.
ReplyDeleteI haven't cross stitched in years, I started smocking when my girls were little and just haven't found the time for cross stitching.
ReplyDeleteMy prince is defenetly Damian Lewis, I am a sucker for a skinny red head and he makes me twitter inside.
After reading Wolf Hall, I am in love with Thomas Cromwell. I would prefer our marriage to take part in modern times and with his head intact, please.
ReplyDeleteOh, my prince is Dave Grohl. He makes me swoon and need smelling salts. Such adorable, scruffy yumminess.
ReplyDeleteWow I totally got sidetracked there, sorry! Winning this would be awesome :)
i have to go with joseph gordon-levitt. so adorable and he just seems so happy and excited about life all the time.
ReplyDeleteI wanna marry Conan O'Brien!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely Colin Firth! :)
ReplyDeleteMy prince is George Clooney! I've had a crush on him since the Facts of Life. Should he not be able to fulfill his duties as prince, my runner up would be Jon Stewart (humor and smarts is soooo sexy!).
ReplyDeletei might have to go with anthony hopkins (circa silence of the lambs) or jeff bridges (circa now!) or possibly alan rickman. okay, gotta stop or i could keep going. ;)
ReplyDeleteI'd love to win the magazine, but perhaps more I'd love to win Colin Firth - I have no idea what he's actually like, but he cleans up pretty in the movies.
ReplyDeleteI would definately pick Henry Cavill. I've been in love with him ever since "The Count of Monte Cristo" And he's British...I LOVE his voice.
ReplyDeleteBtw, this blog is amazing!!!!!!
My prince would be Harry Connick Jr. - a heckuva crooner and not bad to look at either!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win the mag - it has some stunning designs!
I think Samuel Clemens, aka Mark Twain. Smart, witty, well traveled, progressive, creative and a snappy dresser. A good package all around!
ReplyDeleteThe Former King, Edward. Since we already know he'd leave everything for you! So romantic.
ReplyDeleteThe deliciously handsome, Channing Tatum would make a swell prince. Wouldn't mind sharing a castle with him ;)
ReplyDeleteHugh Jackman :) Needs no more words!
ReplyDeleteI'd pick Pierce Brosnan. Great give-away!
ReplyDeleteI discovered your blog recently and am thinking of making the octopus one of these days, but in the meantime, how can I pass up on the chance to get a free mag? My prince would have to be a) hubby, b) Cary Grant or c)Hugh Grant. I guess choice b doesn't count, because he isn't alive.
ReplyDeleteFunny, I just posted my top 5 favorite male celebrities that I find quite princely, including Hugh Jackman! Love him!
ReplyDeleteWell obviosly my Darling hubby is my #1 Prince Charming otherwise I wouldn't have married him... but in a parrellel universe where he and I could never meet it would be one of 2 Aussie actors - Jeremy Lindsay Taylor or Dustin Clair. I have met them both and they are lovely guys plus they have grins that melt my heart & they are scruptiously, deliciously hot.
ReplyDeleteI love this magazine! My prince would have to be Clark Gable.
ReplyDeleteHmm I read through the comments and thought yes to some. Jonathan Rhys Meyers is dreamy and I'd marry him if I weren't already. Sigh. I would love the magazine!
ReplyDeletePrice Philip from Sleeping beauty! I know it's weird to think a cartoon is hot, but what can I say? He is!
ReplyDeleteAlthough I thought I married my prince when I married the first time, alas, it wasn't true. So I tried again & after 17 years of being together, I married my prince a year ago!
ReplyDeleteDiana in Sioux Falls
In honor of Easter my prince (and King) is Jesus Christ!!
ReplyDeleteha! when i was younger, i researched my genealogy in order to prove i was "royal enough" to marry prince harry (the cute one!)
ReplyDeletenowadays i'll stick to my prince of a boyfriend.
Well, if we are really going to be goofy, I'll take the Easter Bunny---Mr. Peter Cottontail himself. I would NEVER run out of chocolate with that set up and chocolate is what I need.
ReplyDeleteI hope I'm not too late! But if I could choose any man to play my prince, I might have to go with Cary Grant. He's British and definitely dashing enough to convince me he's royalty!
