Could someone tell me what type of stitch/es are those tight curly Q's that make up the flower (the one on the left). I'm very (VERY) new to embroidery and this is the second time I see these and love them...thanks!

Yes - it is quite lovely...and I can use all the pretty Springness I can get :)
