I've always loved the story of The Princess and The Pea. There is so much texture and warmth in this piece. Thank you Alejandra408
Isn't this amazing? I love it when crafters create amazing, updated stuff for cross stitch. And I especially love it when they share the pattern with all of us, for free! Here's the free pattern - thanks so much, gableknits!

Look at that stitching! I love it when you peeps are imaginative and embroider in double lines with different colors... I feel like I could stare at these lovely textures all day. Bravo glazedangel! Oh, and yes, that's from a Sublime Stitching pattern.

Oh good lord, I think I just had a heart attack. My Hispanic heart swells with pride at the mere mention of tamales - but the fact that crf_kitty thought so much of tamales that she immortalized them in ALL FRENCH KNOTS makes me so outlandishly happy I could die. Just look at those knots. I dare you not to want tamales now.

What a lovely combination of block printing and embroidery. The image and the stitching work really well together in this 'folklore' piece. Simple and beautiful and the limited use of colours underlines the simplicity.
For once, I have nothing to add. Because "totally awesome" describes it perfectly. :)

I love Arabic script and to see it in stitched form is absolutely lovely. Despite the fact that I can't read it and only just make out a few of the letters..
After finding this I searched Flickr to see if there was more embroidery in Arabic. Not a lot, sadly. But let this be an open invite to anyone who does embroidery in Arabic or any other non-Latin alphabet to get in touch. I'd love to showcase it.

Is this shirt not adorable? And I can't think of any young boy that wouldn't want bugs on his shirt. I want bugs on my shirt! Right now.

Oh my goodness. First William Shatner, and now this? Abe Vigoda was SO my favorite curmudgeon on Barney Miller. I just wanted to hug him. Awesome work, Ms. Virbitsky!
And of course, these embroidered portraits bring to mind the amazingly talented Ms. Hart. I finally saw a few of Jenny's portraits in person last week and I almost passed out from their sheer amazingness. Keep the portrait spirit alive, peeps!

Doesn't this cave painting look perfect on linen? And, against that fabric backdrop? Wonderful!

But not worst embroidery!
Maybe bad songs could be made better if the lyrics were embroidered... Maybe getting them onto fabric we could get them out of our heads...
See more on the Embloggery blog. :-)

You're probably used to our daily awesome Flickr finds. What you might not know, however, is that I'm constantly freaking out over all the amazing stuff I find in the Embroidery pool. I couldn't possibly blog every single awesome thing I find, because then there'd be, like, 3,000 posts per day. (OK, I exaggerate - but only a tiny bit!)
Enter, Twitter! Carina and I will be using Twitter to point out even more cool stuff as we find it, on Flickr, and elsewhere on the web. So subscribe to us and get ready for more awesome!
