Taco Tuesday
This work belongs to mimilove forever from the Flickr group. It just cracked me up this morning when I was surfing and having my coffee. *added* Be sure to check out her blog and explaination.
I almost spit it out.........so.....you are wondering, what does that have to do with Taco Tuesday? *shrug* It's Tuesday, and when the kids were growing up, we had a taco tuesday and they were always looking forward to it....so naturally, it stuck in this mind........carry on.........

Poppin' poppies
Oh look! Aren't these poppies just beautiful? The colours really pop! And how about the stitches? So perfect. :-)

Fab ferret!
In the title of this photo it says it is a ferret, but it reminds me of a panther - like an Inca type panther. Thpse spots and tail led me in that direction. Anyway, ferret or panther, it doesn't take away the fact that this is pretty cute and the stitching is fab!

Frenchie
Oh my goodness! How absolutely adorable is this little guy?!
I really love how expressive it is considering the relatively minimalistic use of lines...
Cute! :-)

You peeps are really doing a lot of awesome Sublime Stitching lately! Every time I turn around there's new stuff in the pool!
Take this Mr and Mrs Zombie duo, made by LittleBeeThatCould for a friend who likes zombies. Oh yes. I can totally see a zombie wedding theme here. Or am I the only one weird enough to imagine that? ;)

Perle Cotton Obsessed......
Seriously, if you were offered a deal to purchase these at 50 cents per, how many would you buy? I gleefully carried 57 spools home like a six year old with a candy bag.......I couldn't wait to sort them out and find a place where they would show off so handsomely. My current wool and fabric store that carried them closed and I was beginning to panic as to where to find them. My favorite quilt shop in Northern Wisconsin was discontinuing their Italian brand of perle cotton . I wanted to buy them all---would you have felt funny doing that? I wondered if I was showing an obsession or being smart.......we fabric, floss lovers do look obsessed at times, don't we? Look at our stashes.....lol. Of course, now I have to justify my purchase by lots and lots of embroidery........I am so upset...........not. What is the most floss /thread you have purchased at one time?

Randomwork
stitched by (our very own) Carina
When you have someone as awesome as Carina writing for Feeling Stitchy, you pretty much want to blog every single thing she makes, because it's all amazing. Case in point - her new Randomwork. I love the idea of just sitting down with a few colors and needles and just stitching whatever you feel like, no plan at all.
So, try it! And read more about her project on her blog.

Your Grandma's embroidery
stitched by Susie's grandma
Check out Susie's grandma's embroidery - gorgeous! See more pics of her grandma's tea towels on Susie's blog. You can see where she gets her talent.
Did your grandma leave you any vintage gems? Why not snap a pic and add them to the pool?
Floss Box

Interview with Porterness
1. Tell me a little bit about yourself.
My name is Jennifer L. Porter, but in my imaginary Etsy and embroidery empire I go by Porterness. I currently live in the Silver Lake area of Los Angeles with my partner in fur Winifred, a muted Calico cat named after my grandmother. I have a Maters of Fine Art from Calarts where I studied photography and video art. When I’m not stitching my brains out I teach analog and digital photography at Chaffey College.
2. How did you get started stitching?
My grandmother taught me the basics when I was 9 years old. I picked up embroidery off and on over the years for little for projects. Reform School, in Silver Lake, was offering an embroidery class taught by Erika of My Imaginary Boyfriend so I thought I would dust off all my grandmothers’ embroidery floss and learn the difference between a running stitch and the backstitch. It was a dark and raining night when I finally learned the magical ways of the French knot and once again became addicted to the meditative quality of embroidery.
3. What inspires you?
I'm inspired by Carl Jung’s concept of the shadow, collective unconscious, and archetypes. Oh, and then there is Spencer Krug of from the bands Sunset Rubdown, Swan Lake, Fifths of Seven and Wolf Parade whose cryptic lyrics create images that baffle and enlightenment me while leaving me completely confused. Is it illegal to stalk a rockstar through embroidery and did I just say that out loud?

4. What advice do you have for other needleworkers out there?
Dig deep into your own experience and imagination to create something you love.
Avert your eyes if you hate Twilight
stitched by savvystitcher
I was wondering if there were any embroiderers out there feeling the pangs of Twilight angst-mania, when I found it - in the pool - Twilight love in progress! Thanks, peeps, for making me a little less ashamed of my love of Twilight. :)
I'm sucked in and kind of ashamed of myself. Every fine-literature loving cell in my body cringes. (Also, all the feminist ones and the ones that find vampire baseball highly implausible.) However, after reading ALL 4 books during my summer vacation I was hooked. I even initially scoffed at the movie. Sigh, no longer.
So if you, like me, hate yourself for loving Twilight, here are some awesome links (courtesy of my best friend) to get you through this. Warning! Some have strong language not meant for the teeny-boppers. Enjoy... :)
- Twilight Movie in 15 minutes courtesy of the awesome Cleolinda
- Edward as a 40 year old mother on a bad day (non-tweeny-bopper language here!)

Perfect Chrysanthemum
How beautiful is this? The stitching is amazing. I know I could never do anything that perfect.

Amazingness! Your eyes do not fool you, Margaret of Resurrection Fern has indeed, embroidered a stone:

She says she will never reveal her secret method. Sounds like a lot of peeps are going to be asking "pretty please." :) Bravo Margaret!
Dalek
I am not that into Doctor Who (unless David Tennant is in it!), but even so, this Dalek is pretty cool.
Heck, I think even my un-crafty husband would appreciate an embroidered Dalek!

Anthropoid Elvis
Goodness me, there's just sooo much good stuff in the pool lately. And here's another excellent specimen.
The image in itself is great but I also really, really like the combination of the all black image with the 'splattered' background.
Fab!
Honor Thy Father
