I have seven that I can think of... including 3 pairs for fabric, pinking shears, kitchen scissors, hair cutting ones... I'm sure there is at least one pair I'm forgetting. Where would we be without scissors? Not in the dentists good books, actually I use my teeth a lot for cutting despite the number of scissors I have : )
I have no idea, I keep losing them around the house. Between doing projects, my kids and my forgetful brain, I tend to mis-place them a lot. Right now I know where 2 pair are, but I know I have a lot more than that.
oh I have I think I have at least 11 or 12 and that doesn't include the student scissors I have from when I used to teach. I have two pair of fabric cutting ones, 2 pair embroidery ones, 3 pair for the office, craft and other pencil jar, 1 pair or shears, 1 pair with the teeth, a crappy pair I hate, kitchen shears, hair cutting ones, the ones in the garage for the hubby to use.. TOO MANY for sure! I think I use the one pair of embroidery ones and one of the officeones and the fabric ones the most
I guess I've got 5 or 6 pairs that I actively use for crafting. Most of them are not very fancy, but I did invest recently in a nice pair of dressmaking shears. That has made a big difference!
I feel honored to be part of this blog - thank you!
I'm actually up to 15(ish). There's always a pair in a box somewhere waiting for the sharpener...
I must admit I have an unfair advantage, as my scissors span three generations of seamstresses. The pair in the bottom right (with the little "age" spots) belonged to my grandmother, who is no long with us.
you should also know I have that pair of ginghers tattooed on my back. heh.
this photo & post made my day! I've had the scissors on the brain lately. I'm working on a series of embroidered scissors and also working on the design for the scissors to be tattooed on me :) The first couple of the embroidered scissors project will be up in a small solo show starting this week, and I'll post photos here on my blog, too! scissor luv!
Hi wow what a collection! I have two cherished pairs of scissors. One pair of dress making scissors that my grandmother bought me when I first started sewing and a small embroidery pair which have seen me through university and beyond!
