So... embroidered graffiti - have you done any? These are my feeble efforts. Pathetic, really. But you know, I'm just too much of a chicken to do anything, well, really cool! ;-)
So what I have done is make these little embroidered 'patches' which are stitched onto scraps of paper with a sticky foam thingy on the back. This way it can be attached almost anywhere, but be removed easily. By anyone who might not appreciate embroidery.
I have left these on a railing and a bench on a little promenade right next to where we live. Not the busiest place in the world, so I thought that would be a nice place to get my feet wet, so to speak.I fantasize about putting these in the toilets at airports, but I haven't done so far. I either plum forget or don't have time (= courage).
There is another patch which is on a bench facing the Thames (in London), right behind the London Studios building. Or there was, anyway, who knows if anyone's removed it by now.So, that's a little update on that. Not as much doing as I'd like. How about you?

Please don't feel that your efforts aren't great, because they are. They are not only great they are inspirational as well. I can't even explain how happy I would be to find these little art works around my town. Maybe I will make some today! Thank you for posting this and thank you for being brave enough to start to step outside of your comfortzone.
ReplyDeleteToo Cool! I live in a Very Wealthy 'hood - and there is a real sense of entitlement amongst many of the residents. I would love to do something like this, along with a note with something to the effect of "Money Isn't The Only Thing You Can Make."

ReplyDeleteThis is really cool. The world needs more of nice little happenings. I haven't done this, but I have left things, like art work from my student days, and jewelry that I am going to give to a rummage sale, out in an obvious spot near my apartment. It is so exciting to see that it is gone when I come home. I like to wonder about who took it; was it a nice surprise for them and where it is now. I imagine them waring the jewelry or the picture hanging on their wall.
