Redwork

I love redwork. I've done some (though I don't seem to have any pictures of it). I took a class in it years ago and love the simplicity of just using the one color thread. There is a lot of history around redwork also. I found this source online which explains some of it.

Around Flickr, there are many wonderful redwork examples - there are so many it was hard to choose, so I just chose some from the Embroidery pool to show as inspirations. I love the many ways you ladies have used redwork!

    I love Red and white anything, and I can't believe that I haven't yet made any red work, the photos have inspired me to try my hand at a couple of project that I have my eye on. Thanks!!

    I´ve discovered I´m a Feeling Stitchy FAN!!! I´ve done my first red work inspired by it (the little house I posted in my blog)! and now I´m embroydering the gnome free pattern posted by Floresita!!! I just LOVE doing red work!!! I´m going to send you/Floresita theses projects´ photos, OK? Sorry my blog is in Portuguese...
